At NameHog we take great care when optimising web sites to ensure that they are compliant to W3C and also make sure that search engines, mainly Google can read them properly and list you as near to the top in the natural search result listings. To correctly search engine optimise a site can take anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on how large the website is.

How much does it cost?
To optimise a website we charge on a per page basis to make it easy for the end user so that you can work out the cost of the optimisation. We charge £18 + VAT per page that we optimise. We do have to optimise the whole site for the service to work properly, we will not just optimise one page. If you have more than 10 pages, each extra page will be charged at £12 + VAT per page. A 15 page website would work out at £240 + VAT.

Unlike some companies who do SEO work, we charge differntly to them as we only charge you once for the optimisation. We do not do the work that other companies do who charge on a per month basis, generally in the £300+ per month bracket. If you have a monthly budget in excess of £500 we can optimise your site then send you over to a company we work closely with who will do the rest!

What do you do when you optimise my webiste?
When you pay for site optimisation, we do the following things to your website if you want us to look at the whole site. We do ask that your website is HTML, not PHP, Flash or ASP as we will not be able to optimise it otherwise.

• Create image ALT tags
• Create title tags on all links and images
• Check Google PageRank and monitor PR
• Insert relevant keywords into pages
• Adjust page link wording

• Ensure website can be read correctly by search engines
• Create an XML Sitemap
• Create robots.txt file

• Submit XML Sitemap to Google
• Submit site to a large number of search engines
• Create keyword rich text
• Check competitions websites so we know what to optimise against
• Clear out dead links in search engines
• Give a 1, 2 and 3 month report on how your website is progressing

We cannot guarantee results in search engines, but a lot of the time we can make a good difference. Generally speaking we can optimise a site and have it found in Google within a month. With some markets it is very difficult to obtain good search engine positions, but with more obscure areas with less competition its not too difficult.

Please note that we do not create resiprocal links or put your site into web rings as these are pointless and do not achieve anything. We also do not create a load of micro sites to feed your main site. The only thing we do is optimise your site to work the best for you in search engines and make sure it sticks to all of Googles guidelines which we find work best.

What we need from you!
For us to optimise your site, we require a copy of the web pages, so ideally we would like FTP access to your site to access the files. We need access to where it is hosted to be able to complete some tasks. Once we have a copy of your site we can set to work. We need to know what search words you would best like to be found by, we do advice on the best keywords to help you if required.
